Take the Plunge: A Devotional

5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!”

Revelation 21:5

It’s the new year. 2019 will be full of blessings, hardships, joys, and challenges alike, but God’s got you this year!

10 days into 2019, it may seem like you’re dipping your feet into the waters of new things. You’ve probably written down resolutions and goals and have an idea of who you want to be this year, but don’t know how to dive in and start making this year the best one yet.

9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

Colossians 3:9-10

Trust God to help you take the plunge! Just like in the ocean, sometimes the water may seem scary and rough on its surface, but dive a little deeper and you’ll see a gorgeous world you never knew existed.

You will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by.
Life will be brighter than noonday, and darkness will become like morning.
You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety.
-Job 11:16-18
Let these words soak in. Remember that the Lord has your back no matter what! He’ll catch you when you fall.

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;to be made new in the attitude of your minds;and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
-Ephesians 4:22-24
What are some of your New Year’s Resolutions 2019? Do you trust God to help you Take The Plunge?

  1. I am keeping three words out in front of me for 2019: faith, family, and health. I listed faith first because if I am working on an improved faith walk with Christ, the other two words will definitely follow. May God you much peace in this year.

    1. Those are some fantastic words, and that is very true! My personal word is flexible, and my family’s word is release. I’ll probably do a post on that soon, thanks for the inspiration! Thank you for commenting, and God bless your year as well!
