Light (Mini Devotional)

Imagine you are in a cave. A dark, shadowy, rocky cave, filled with razor-sharp rocks, endless pools, and calm plains alike. Some spots in the cave are easy to make it through – others, though, you struggle to reach the end of.

Then, imagine that you find a flashlight. The moment you accept the fact that it’s impossible to get through the cave on your own, the flashlight turns on and floods the cave with light and understanding.

Those jagged, sharp rocks? Turns out, in the light, they were just little pebbles. Those dark pools of swirling waters? When the light hits them, you realize they were just puddles.

Life is like that cave, and God is like that light. When you put your trust in God and pray to Him, then His Light can shine on any situation!

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path”. -Psalm 119:105
“…the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. And for those who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined.” – Matthew 4:16
Have a blessed day! What are some ways YOU remember to ask for God’s light in prayer? Are you participating in the Letters With A Purpose challenge?

  1. This was good Emmie! ❤️ I would add that to us, the rocks are actually like sharp rocks and there were actually swirling pools of water, just because without God, there ARE things in life that are big, scary, and that we can’t handle. That’s where the Light shines in. That’s where Jesus comes in. He makes it possible for us to not be overcome by those things. The light shines through and shows us the path around those thins! ❤️ I love all your posts, girly, keep writing!!! ❤

And, yes! I am doing the Letters With A Purpose challenge! ❤ ❤ 😃
