If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all. -Isaiah 7:9
This Bible verse was first introduced to me at VBS two years ago. Even though I forgot it when I wanted to use it for a photo story on my AG blog, God let the words come flooding back to me when I decided to create this website. That verse has had me thinking a lot about faith.
So, I wrote this post for you guys about Standing Firm in YOUR Faith! Let’s get right to it.
11 Faith means being sure of the things we hope for. And faith means knowing that something is real even if we do not see it. 2 People who lived in the past became famous because of faith.
~Hebrews 11:1-2 ICB
Take a moment to read Hebrews 11. The author of Hebrews is telling his audience to have faith in Jesus Christ as they make the decision to either stay Jewish or become Christians.
Hebrews 11 is giving examples of faith from throughout the Bible to follow. He also uses words like being sure (trust) and continuing (perseverance).
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
~2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
Faith is about trusting that God is always there for you. Faith is about knowing that He is not walking in front of you, or beside you, but within you. As children of God, we have Christ in our hearts – let’s wear our hearts on our sleeves for all the world to see.
Faith is about perseverance. There are going to be times when your faith is tested, or even times when you are condemned like Hebrews 11:32-40 discusses.
36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.~Hebrews 10:36
In this translation (ICB), Hebrews 11 uses the word faith 30 times. There are 39 verses in Hebrews. The author is really stressing the point of faith so we can recognize the faith of others and shape our own faith.
And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
~Mark 11:22-24
Let’s move those mountains, girls (or guys)!

This was such an inspirational post. ❤
Hum…very interesting. Probably listening to Christian music, reading my Bible, praying when I am fearful or doubtful, (or stressed out), thanking God for HIS blessings, and surrounding myself with Christian blogs. 🙂 I also try to memorize Scripture! 😀
