Songs, Poetry, and Praising the Lord

Hello, brothers and sisters in Christ!

Today I’m going to share some of the songs and poems I’ve written to worship the Savior and help me through some tough times. At the end, there will be a little devotional about worship. So sorry that this is a little late. Ready, set, go!

Standing Firm in My Faith-2

Hold On // Emmie

Genre // Praise and worship

Feel // acoustic, deep, strong

Meaning // Things get hard, but if you hold on to God He will pull you through whatever you are facing

(First Verse)

When your whole life is upside-down

When the world seems to swallow you who-o-o-le

When your life is rocked off axis

When the whole world seems to turn against you

There’s a little something I think you should know

And it goes a little something like this

(Chorus)

Just keep holding on to God

Keep your grasp firm on Him

Cuz He’s mightier than mighty

Stronger than strong

Just gotta keep holding on

(Second Verse)

When darkness closes in

When despair seems to win

The sadness, grief extends

You just let the struggle win

But I’ve got a little something I think you should know

And it goes a little something like this

And it goes a little something like THIS!!!

(Repeat Chorus)

(Third Verse)

Oh, there’s a little something I think you should know

There’s a little something  I think you should know

There’s a little something  I think you should know

There’s a little something  I think you should know

(Repeat Chorus)

Oh

There’s a little something I think you should know

Keep On // Emmie

Genre // Praise and worship

Feel // Upbeat, hopeful, acoustic, faithful, passionate

Meaning // Times get rough, but God loves you and has a plan for you even when you feel small and insignificant. So keep on hoping and growing in your faith and relationship with Him.

(Intro)

I am just a little seed

But someday I’ll be a tree

Just need a little nourishing

Before I can keep on growing

(First Verse)

You dug a hole and planted me

So someday I’ll be set free

From the chains of the old me

Now I’ll be the best me I can be

(Bridge)

Gonna keep on holding on

Keep on standing strong

Keep on moving along

Keep on singing this song

(Chorus)

I got enough faith to walk on water

Got enough hope to climb mountains

And when I’m feeling weak

God will help me reach the peak

I’ll stand tall and remember

That through it all

He has a plan for me

A plan for this tiny seed

So, I’ll keep on growing

(Second Verse)

The grass withers and the flowers fade, fade

But the Word of my God stays the same

The Lord almighty knows my name

And every single word I say

(Repeat Bridge)

(Repeat Chorus)

(Third Verse)

No matter how hard I try

Sometimes I just have to cry

But You remind me that I

Am not alone and everything will be fine

(Repeat Bridge Softly, Build Up To Chorus)

(Repeat Chorus)

He has a plan for me

A plan for this tiny seed

No Matter Where // Emmie

Feel // Upbeat, hopeful, classic gospel

Meaning // Similair to Keep On; God always has a plan no matter where you are

(Intro)

Lord, You know who I am

You will take me by the hand

When I’m away or I’m at home

I know I am not alone

(First Verse)

I know You are always there

And I know that you always care

Be my true self and nothing less

You will help me through this mess

(Chorus)

Oh

Take me under Your wing

The whole world shall sing

“Jesus Christ the King

Is coming!”

Oh

Take me by the hand

And help me understand

That God Almighty has a plan

No matter where I am

No matter

Where

I am

(Second Verse)

I’m in a crazy tangled mess

I’m overloaded with stress

But every single hour

You watch over with Your Power

I know You will be with me

And I know that You’ve set me free

I’ll try to stay strong as much as I can

And I’ll trust You have a plan!!!

(Repeat Chorus)

(Third Verse)

Deep inside I just wish I could cry

But there’s no reason to cry because you’re my

Lord and Savior-or-or

Lord and Savior-or-or

Lord and Savior-or-or

Lord and Savior-or-or

Lord and Savior-or-or

(Repeat Chorus)

(Repeat Intro)

What is Worship??

Worship: reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage, or toany object regarded as sacred.
Worship is a way of praising God for all of His amazing things that He did and does for us. He is amazing! 1 Chronicles 16:23 says:
23 Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day.

Worship night is one of my most favorite church events of the year!! We sing songs and pray prayers and take communion and remember all that God has done for us. Look for me, it’s pretty easy – I’m the one who’s dancing my heart out and everyone’s staring at me. XD Psalms 86:9 also proclaims:

9 All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name.
Honor GOD, not idols. Honor HIM, not the photo or statue of Him. And most importantly, pull an Emmie and don’t worry about what other people think when you’re worshiping. 😉 The LORD deserves your full self!!
